There are Braidless Microlinks hair rules you must follow for the best install results. There are braidless sew-in install rules for prepping your hair for bed. There are also Braidless Microlink rules to follow if you want to take your install for a dip in the pool and rules post diving in the waters.
Here are two simple but important rules for your braidless install post water play!
Rule 1:
Thoroughly detangle your hair prior to shampooing your hair. Before detangling the hair you want to dampen the hair with water or a leave-in conditioner. Be sure not to overly saturate the hair, you just want the strands to be dampened to lessen any chances of breaking the hair, if the hair has dried.
Once you have gone through the hair and dampened it with leave-in (preferred) or water, section the hair into four or more sections, depending on your hair density (fullness). Starting from to ends of the hair working your way towards the scalp, detangle the hair using a wide tooth comb or detangling brush. (NOTE: at times both may be necessary). Ensure that you go row by row, to detangle the natural hair that is left between the rows.
Rule 2:
Shampoo and thoroughly condition the hair soon as you are done with your water play. If you are going to have back to back days of enjoying time in the water and dipping your hair in it, you don’t have to shampoo at the end of each day. It is suggested that you at least rinse the hair with water and apply a conditioner regular (rinse out) or leave-in until you have finished your water play.
Post pool play, it is highly recommended that you visit the salon for deep treatments and to help with hair damage control.
If you have been diving in the waters this Summer and have not properly been treating your hair right, whether you have worn braids or the braidless microlink install, come in to the salon for some hair TLC. Book your shampoo and treatment visit here.
